Basato sul gruppo di supereroi dei Vendicatori di Marvel Comics, il film è il seguito di Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Nel finale di Infinity War, Thanos, con un semplice schiocco delle dita, ha polverizzato mezzo universo. Una scelta che ha lasciato sbigottiti e amareggiati i fan dei supereroi Marvel che hanno visto disgregarsi sotto i propri occhi i loro eroi preferiti. Avengers: Endgame costituisce il ventiduesimo film del Marvel Cinematic Universe e l'ultimo della cosiddetta "Fase Tre". Le riprese sono iniziate nell'agosto 2017 presso i Pinewood Atlanta Studios della contea di Fayette, si sono svolte in contemporanea con quelle di Infinity War e si sono concluse nel gennaio 2018. Il titolo definitivo del film, Avengers: Endgame, è stato reso noto il 7 dicembre 2018 con la pubblicazione del primo trailer. L'uscita del film negli Stati Uniti d'America, nei formati IMAX e 3D, è prevista per il 26 aprile 2019, mentre in Italia per il 24 aprile 2019.
